Us
On this page, the purpose and objectives of the Evening/Weekend
Student Club will be listed. A history about the club will be written
accordingly and maintained on this page by members of the EWSC.
Purpose
According to the constitution drafted in July 12, 2006, the Evening/Weekend
Student Club has as its purpose to develop and promote evening/weekend
academic and career enhancement activities and experiences, based
on the needs and requests of the evening/weekend students. Also
the club shall serve as advocate and point of information for evening/weekend
students who need representation. It shall provide leadership opportunities
to students. The club shall provide a forum for exploring the role
of the college student in the awareness of global affairs.
Objectives
This
purpose shall be achieved by working in cooperation with the Evening/Weekend
Program office and evening/weekend faculty. It shall be achieved
by developing academic programs that are complimentary to the classes
offered in an evening/weekend format. The club will host activities
with invited guests from professional fields. These activities will
offer opportunities for the development of leadership skills among
students.
All
activities of the Evening/Weekend Student Club are legal and non-profit
in nature. We accept and understand that under the authority granted
by the Board of Trustees, as specified in the Board of Higher Education
By-Laws Article 15.2, the Student Government Association legislative
decisions shall take precedence over those of this and any other
student club/organization.
